A Festive Afternoon

The California Youth Symphony is pleased to continue our March Festival Concert series, at which we feature our Intermediate String Ensemble, the Wind Symphony, and the CYS Associate Orchestra. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe and enjoy the full scope of the CYS program and to support the collaborative efforts of all of the groups involved. The Associate Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Eylar, will perform works by Dvorak, Mussorgsky, and Ippolitov-Ivanov, as well as featuring Julian Tso, one of two winners of the Associate Orchestra Concerto Competition.  Julian will perform the Cecil Forsyth Viola Concerto, a work known for its extremely expressive solo writing and the delicate yet powerful energy of its orchestration.
