Tour Benefit Raffle

The CYS Benefit Raffle is a fabulous way to win valuable prizes while helping our orchestra and its members fund the 2018 Baltics and Russia Tour.

Grand Prize: Parisian Getaway - Trip to Paris for Two, Nov. 8-12, 2018
(List of additional prizes will be available soon.)
Drawing: June 17, 2018 - Tour Preview Concert - 2:30PM
Reed L. Buffington Visual and Performing Arts Center, Chabot College, Hayward
Tickets: $10 each

Here are some details about the raffle.

  1. Each Senior Orchestra musician is required to sell at least 20 tickets (two bundles) at $10 each ticket. Half the proceeds from raffle ticket sales benefit the musician's account. The process:
    • Each student's account will automatically be billed $100 for half the proceeds due to CYS.
    • Once the musician collects $200 for selling all 20 raffle tickets, the musician could either
      • Return the $200 to CYS, where $100 will pay off the Raffle Sales to CYS and the other $100 will go into the musician's account, to offset any other account balance. Or,
      • Return only $100 to CYS, which will pay off the Raffle Sales to CYS.
  2. Final raffle ticket money is due at the last tour rehearsal on June 15, 2018 at Almond Elementary School. Keep in mind, to receive credit promptly, please turn in your raffle sales at the earliest rehearsal possible. We prefer increments of $100 for better tracking purposes.
  3. Musicians are encouraged to sell as many tickets as they can. A bundle consists of 10 tickets. Additional bundles can be obtained at rehearsal by contacting our Benefit Raffle Coordinator ahead of time.
  4. A collection box for raffle ticket stubs is available at some rehearsals (except workshop days) and at all concerts. If you are turning in an individual ticket stub or a booklet, please also provide the money to validate the entry!
  5. IMPORTANT: Names on stubs for drawings have to be over 18 years old.
  6. Fundraising volunteer hours are granted at end of season (4 raffles=1 hour)
  7. The top three salespersons will each receive a $100 Amazon gift card!

We encourage you to increase your fundraising goal past your required minimum – remember, your account receives 50% credit of the total value of the raffle tickets sold (excluding the first 10 tickets). Generate support from your friends, family and social network, and gain invaluable social and marketing experience. In 2016, the average musician raised $200 (that's 40 tickets sold)!
